See a draft of our plan for the future at open house June 7

Castle Rock is flourishing. As more residents and business owners discover our community as a desirable place to raise a family or grow a business, it’s important to ensure the Town we know today remains the one we love in the future. Your Town has a plan.

The Town’s Comprehensive Master Plan is a guiding document that defines the community’s broad and long-term direction. We’re updating the plan, and you’re invited to view the draft.

Join us for an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Millhouse at Philip S. Miller Park, 1375 W. Plum Creek Parkway. View the plan and ask questions.

The Comprehensive Master Plan was last updated in 2002, and, of course, a lot has changed. This updated document looks ahead to 2030. It focuses on Four Cornerstones: Town Identity, Responsible Growth, High-quality Community Services, and Thriving Economy.

The community confirmed the importance of these Four Cornerstones during various outreach efforts related to the update. The draft includes information from 2013 and 2015 community surveys, open houses held throughout 2015 for this project, and last year’s open houses related to growth.

For the plan to be finalized, Planning Commission and Town Council will review the draft and determine if it’s adopted. This is expected during summer 2017.
