Tune in to support trails this summer; free concerts and family fun at PSM Park

Great music, delicious food and drinks, family-friendly fun – what more do you need for a perfect night in Castle Rock? Participate in all the seasonal fun, and help a great cause, at the Town’s Tunes for Trails, Perks for Parks free concert series. The series kicks off Thursday, June 29 with Boogie Machine.

Donate, dance and dine on select Thursdays this summer with the free concert series at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park. These concerts will feature Colorado bands and will be great for the entire family.

The concerts run from 6-9 p.m. Open seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. So, come early and enjoy yard games, bouncy houses and fun for the entire family.

At the concert, donations will be accepted for the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation. The Foundation is an organization independent from the Town that works to enhance Castle Rock’s parks, trails and recreational spaces.

The Tunes for Trails, Perks for Parks concert series includes:

•Boogie Machine – Thursday, June 29; 6-9 p.m.

Boogie Machine is Colorado’s premier Disco and 70’s funk and rock band. They have been packing dance floors for more than 18 years. When it comes to party bands they ARE the party, so get your dancing shoes! They define unforgettable.

•The Goonies – Thursday, July 6; 6-9 p.m.

Based in Boulder, CO, The Goonies are a four-piece rock band that will blow you away with their shredding guitar solos and unravel your sense of space and time. Founded in 1985, after escaping a kidnapping by a large Sasquatch, the young rockstars decided to travel through time and come light up the 21st century. While you may wake up with crimped hair, a sore neck, and no recollection of the last 12 hours, The Goonies never… ever… say hangover.

•FACE – Thursday, July 20; 6-9 p.m.

FACE is an internationally acclaimed all-vocal rock band from Boulder, Colorado who have been captivating audiences for over a decade with their infectious energy punctuated by an endearing love of performance. “Blending modern popular tunes with complex harmonies, brilliant beat-box rhythms and superb singing, FACE takes their audience on a musical journey and it’s fantastic fun.” (FringeReview.co.uk)

Performing over 100 shows per year around the world, the band has also competed on the hit NBC series “The Sing-Off,” headlined at Edinburgh, Scotland’s prestigious Festival Fringe, and has opened for legendary performers such as Jon Bon Jovi, Jay Leno, Manhattan Transfer, Culture Club & Boy George, Rick Springfield, and Robin Thicke.

•Paizley Park – Thursday, Aug. 3; 6-9 p.m.

A tribute to Prince, Paizley Park’s Phillip Lamar Jordan emanates Prince in vocal similarity, look and performance. Along with the band, Paizley Park will dazzle you with synchronized dance movements and music performance of songs from the late great, Prince (Prince Rogers Nelson).

•Hip Pocket – Thursday, Aug. 31; 6-9 p.m.

Hip Pocket, with their fantastic harmonies, is a seven-piece variety band playing a dynamic combination of dance, funk, pop and rock-n-roll.

•John Adams, The Tribute to John Denver – Saturday, Oct. 7; noon-2 p.m.

John Adams takes the stage, leading his tribute band that consists of top-rated professional musicians that elevate the audiences experience to an unmatched performance from any tribute concert they’ve ever heard. Each John Denver song is performed effortlessly as audience members can relax and reminisce about an age long gone.

Each musician takes an active role in celebrating the music that pays tribute to John Denver. The music is performed exactly how fans remember hearing from the Rocky Mountain legend himself. Songs like Rocky Mountain High, Take Me Home Country Roads, Annie’s Song, Calypso, and Thank God I’m a Country Boy combine with personal stories that John Adams shares about his poignant times spent with John Denver.

Food trucks and beverage sales will be available. Or, pack a picnic for the entire family. Please keep in mind outside alcoholic beverages will not be permitted.
