Plunge into fun for a good cause at the annual Pooch Plunge event

It’s hard to believe, but the dog days of summer are nearing an end. Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer. Before we bid a final farewell to parties by the pool, make sure your pooch gets a final splash at Butterfield Crossing Pool.

The 13th annual Pooch Plunge will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 9, at Butterfield Crossing Pool, 3952 W. Butterfield Crossing Drive.

All well-behaved dogs are invited to come for a day of fun, food, music and prizes. Admission is free. However, donations and raffle proceeds will benefit the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center in Castle Rock.

Meantime, residents looking to beat the heat this summer only have a few more days at the Town’s outdoor pools.

Butterfield Pool will remain open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, but will be closed Monday through Friday. Burgess Memorial Pool will remain open 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The last day to swim at these pools for the summer will be Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4
