Castle Rock Fire and Rescue breaks ground on new station Sept. 18

Protecting your life and property is the mission of the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department. Often, that means a prompt response to your call for help. It also means planning for the future. That’s why CRFD is getting ready to build a new fire station.

Join the department for a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the site of the new station, 631 Crystal Valley Parkway. Hear from Fire Chief Art Morales about the need for the station, station concept and construction timeline.

The new fire station will be located on north side of Crystal Valley Parkway, just east of the Crystal Valley Parkway bridge. The location was determined as part of the department’s research for the 2014-17 Fire Master Plan.

To create the plan, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue analyzed the Town’s demographics and growth rate; percentages of build-out for area developments; and calls for service and responses to various areas throughout Town. The analysis indicated the next area of need is Crystal Valley.

The new station is expected to open with 12 new staff members in summer 2018.
