Festival Park officially opens during Starlighting; join a ribbon cutting Nov. 18

In the past, it was where major holidays were celebrated, community events were held and family memories were made. But, for the past year Festival Park has been under construction. Big changes have been made and our community’s treasured Downtown landmark will soon be reopening for business. Come celebrate the new additions to our beloved Festival Park with a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, Nov. 18.

Town Council approved a plan last year to redesign the park. Since then, the Town, Downtown Development Authority and the Downtown Merchants Association have been working together with the goal of enhancing the park into a modern public gathering place. Now, that work is almost complete. The dedication and ribbon cutting will take place at 3:30 p.m. just before the lighting of the star.

While finishing touches will be made over the next few months, the park will officially be open. Come check out the new additions at the park, enjoy the holiday decorations and take a self-guided tour of the splash pad, Overlook and Lantern, the Landing, and the new bridges.

Plus, save the date! Mark your calendar for the grand opening celebration Saturday, June 2. Stay up-to-date on details at CRgov.com/festivalpark.
