Castlerock began long before it became a business. It started with two brothers, Aidan and Damian Casserley, growing up in a neighbourhood called Castle Rock, the place that inspired our name.
From a young age, the brothers were captivated by technology. Their childhood curiosity turned into obsession when their neighbours, a Chinese family generations ahead in tech, introduced them to a new world of possibility. The brothers would string a cable over the garden wall to play Warcraft, learn about coding, and explore technology that few in South Africa had ever seen.
Aidan’s hunger to learn was insatiable. On trips to the UK and Ireland, he would fill his suitcase with computer books, sometimes leaving his clothes behind just to fit in more knowledge. By school age, he was already leagues ahead, even getting banned from the computer lab for hacking into the admin computer (for fun, of course).
After studying, Aidan spent his early career on the road, solving client issues by day and catching up on admin by night, often putting in 18-hour days. Eventually, he decided to start his own business, converting his father’s garage into a small office. Not long after, Damian joined him, and Castlerock was officially born.
What began as a garage startup has grown into a trusted IT partner for businesses. But even as we’ve expanded, our values haven’t changed. Castlerock is built on passion, hard work, and a genuine love for technology. We take pride in helping businesses grow, supporting our people and their families, and building opportunity.
